Nayna Gupta Testifies at Shadow Hearing on Deportation’s Impact on Families and Communities

At a recent shadow hearing hosted by a member of Congress serving as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Immigration, Integrity, Security, and Enforcement, the American Immigration Council's Policy Director delivered testimony examining the devastating human costs of deportation. The hearing, titled *Kidnapped and Disappeared: Trump's Assault Destroys U.S. Families and Communities*, was the third in a series examining how current deportation policies are tearing apart the lives of real people across the country.

In her testimony, the Policy Director highlighted how deportation policies tear apart families and destabilize communities, undermine due process and fairness in the U.S. immigration system, and weaken the values of justice and dignity that should define America.
